"I love my family, because they help me see in the dark”- Will (13 years old) Will is 13. He’s got an amazing sense of humor and thinks about life differently, because he knows he has a limited time to see. He has Bardet-Biedl syndrome which causes retinal degeneration and will eventually render him blind. He’s learning braille and just got a cane to walk with. Like all teenagers; he’s up for any adventure no matter how crazy it sounds. He’s worried about high-school and finding his way around, but knows his family and friends will help him see.

The Earth was made for us to live on it. So, I say-what are you waiting for? GET GOING. Put on your heavy-duty helmet, grab your sword and challenge Arnold Schwarzenegger to a duel. What’s the worst that could happen? He could pin you down with a crazy ninja move and then stare right into your eyes and say, “I’ll be back”; and if that’s the worst thing that happens, that would be totally rad. TRY IT. Strap on your super-duper jumping shoes, double knot your laces and see if Michael Jordan is up for a slam-dunk face off. What’s the worst that could happen? He could annihilate you with a Tomahawk dunk and smash the backboard by jumping off your head; and if that’s the worst thing that happens, that would be the best day you ever had. SURPRISE YOURSELF. Pull out your famous family potpie recipe, sharpen your knives and see if Rachel Ray wants to have a bake off. What’s the worst that could happen? She could create delicious crust and whip up some kind of magical tasting stuff that makes everyone drool; and if that’s the worst thing that happens, that would be totally cool. BE BRAVE. Grab your mega microphone, put on some fancy clothes and see if Jimmy Fallon will let you co-host the Tonight Show. What’s the worst that could happen? He could tell a funnier joke that makes the audience cry from laughing so hard; and if that’s the worst thing that happens then you’re the luckiest by far. GET GOING. TRY IT. SURPRISE YOURSELF. BE BRAVE. The worst thing that could happen is that it’s too late.
